Bridge Cladding in the City of Rahat

As part of an important infrastructure project in the city of Rahat, a pedestrian bridge crossing the Grar Stream was constructed, connecting the new neighborhood with the older parts of the city. The bridge was designed to provide a safe and accessible route for daily use by residents—especially children on their way to school—without requiring them to descend into the wadi below. It ensures stable and secure passage even during rainfall, flooding, or other challenging weather conditions.

 

Beyond its functionality, the architectural design draws inspiration from the local culture. The bridge’s color palette and mashrabiya pattern echo Bedouin textile motifs and the natural hues of the desert landscape, blending the structure harmoniously into its surroundings while preserving a strong local identity

 

For the bridge decking, the advanced SHOGUN bamboo composite decking was selected due to its outstanding durability in harsh outdoor environments—resisting strong winds, humidity, intense sun, temperature fluctuations, and high salinity. The decking complies with rigorous standards not only for durability but also for safety, featuring a high anti-slip rating. It also requires minimal maintenance over time, with no need for oiling or special treatment.
